devon cricket league 2026 - round 3

1ST XI

The 1st XI travelled up north to take on North Devon CC 1st XI sadly minus the TBGS mini bus which travelling interesting and going through heavy rain at times it was a wonder there was going to be any play.

Rain meant the toss was delayed and as a result each side had lost 10 overs when North Devon won the toss and asked TKCC to have a bat.  TKCC got off to a disastrous losing Josh Thompson before he troubled the scorers.  North Devon old boy Joe Farndale (22) and Ben Pomare (48) repaired the early damage before North Devon’s skipper, Jack Moore, took 4 for 25, reducing TKCC to 89 for 5.  It was then left to Will Begy (43) and Ed Smout Cooper (36 not out) to rebuild the innings and TKCC finished on 191 for 6 in 40 overs – the last few overs being played in heavy drizzle.  During the innings there was the first Level 1 “bad boy” but fortunately for a TKCC player.  Play didn’t resume after tea and the match was Abandoned.

Next up for the 1st XI is hosting  Bridestowe and Belstone CC - 1st XI next weekend – Evo’s 700th league match.  Hope you have been enjoying article about his history on the website.
