breaking news
Eight years ago today, Sonny Baker made his 1st XI league debut against Chudleigh CC 1st XI at Kate Brook – a fairly easy win in which Sonny ran around the field for 32.1 overs and wasn’t required to do anything else. Three players from that match have played for the 1st XI this season – Josh Hunt, Kazi Szymanski (a fellow King’s College Taunton OB) and Tim Western.
Eight years on from that to the day, the club are pleased to announce, Sonny is in the England XII for the 1st Test Match at The Home of Cricket against New Zealand starting this Thursday. (Roger Twose a member of the famous Tolchard / Twose Dynasty and another King’s College Taunton OB who played a few DCL matches for Torquay CC is currently a Board Director of New Zealand Cricket.)
Congratulations Sonny and Fingers Crossed!
